The Gelux peer 2 peer goals
How does stateless Linux system work
- The diskless deployment is the simplest example of a stateless linux configuration. www.ltsp.org For more information.
- Any LiveCD system is a more complex stateless Linux. I have chosen to build gelux on the basis of Morphix. This also means that the project could be easily ported on any livecd system.
Why Morphix
- Morphix offers the big advantage to provide a project community (CVS, mailing, etc.) for livecd technology based on debian. Another quite big advantage is the modularity of the Morphix livecd. There are layers on the system and each has to be managed separately:
- The hardware detection and configuration (gentoo content)
- The Application layer
- The plug-in extension
Why gentoo
- Gentoo is a free operating system that can be automatically optimized and customized for just about any application or need. Gentoo is an ideal environment to build the “hardware detection layer”.
